The Malta Journalism Gold Award, which recognises a Maltese resident with a long career and vast experience in journalism and whose contribution goes beyond the requisites of normal professional practice, was yesterday presented posthumously to Lino Arrigo Azzopardi (pictured above) and Lino Bugeja.
Organised annually by the Institute of Maltese Journalists (IGM), the 27th edition of the Malta Journalism Awards was held at The Palace Hotel Sliema.
IGM, formerly known as the Press Club, has organised the Gold Award since 1998. The board awarding the prize is made up three prominent figures, flanked by a secretary chosen from the officials of IGM.
The Gold Award was presented by former President George Abela posthumously to members of their families.
